Note. The receiving of the Holy Spirit in 2:4 is an
extraordinary event. The receiving of the Holy Spirit in 2:38 is the ordinary
New Testament pattern.
Note how baptism with water
symbolizes the two gospel benefits of cleansing from sin and of new life from
above by the baptism of the Spirit.
